HEROES AMONG US.

In A Leader To Heroes, President & CEO Tim Dentry speaks to what it means to lead in a time of crisis.

In March of 2020, life as we knew it went sideways. Schools shut down, businesses closed their doors, and families worked from their kitchen table thinking things might be back to normal by the end of April.

Northern Light Health knew better. Though SARS-CoV-2 was a novel and mysterious virus, they recognized that this was going to change everyone’s lives in a big way, and for a long time.

In the weeks immediately following Maine’s stay-at-home order, the marketing and communications team at Northern Light began the planning phases of their most ambitious storytelling project to date: to document the health care system’s response to COVID-19.

For the third year in a row, the team at Osborne Media was selected to oversee the video component of this report. Being awarded this contract was a major factor in the our designation by the State of Maine as an “essential business,” and enabled us to continue our operations when many businesses had shut their doors.

In Heroes Who Fought The Virus, Baballa Adam shares his harrowing fight with COVID-19.

Strict safety measures were laid out and enforced. Interviews were filmed far from COVID treatment areas, which sometimes required shrewd yet functional solutions. On our first day of filming, we built an interview set in a snowplow garage, with doctors using stacks of salt buckets as a seat.

What came of our months-long journey across the state was a beautiful tribute to the selfless, unflagging work of the front-line workers, supply chain and facility managers, environmental service staff, and those in the community who help keep patients and the public-at-large safe through this pandemic.

We snapped this selfie because we thought “we’ll want to remember those days when they asked us to wear a mask.”

Heroes On The Front Lines

Northern Light Health’s front line staff put themselves at risk to provide exceptional care, but COVID-19 has shown how far they are willing to go to help others.

Heroes BEHIND THE SCENES

When the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in Maine, an army of Northern Light Health staff working behind the scenes to help keep their front line workers and patients safe.

Heroes IN THE COMMUNITY

Maine is known for neighbors looking out for neighbors, and our communities stepped up when healthcare workers needed support.

A NEW MEMBER

Mayo Regional Hospital became a member of Northern Light Health on March 1, 2020. Little did they know that in just a few short weeks, that merger would be a critical lifeline for the region they served.
